I start with the center strip (mainly I do black) and work of those edges. I don't have a certain size strip as the objective is to use what I have;> I use very small, probably an inch all the way up to an occasional 3 or 4 inch. No worries, no stress, easy peasy.

On second look I noticed the really cool binding. Is it scrappy as well or a print. Looks great.

It's a print, though it makes it looks like the binding is scrappy too.

I love string quilts and I've done several and I'm itching to another. Aren't they fun and it is so nice to use up some scraps. Yours is really nice, why do you use paper?

So you can use anything, including bias. If you don't use paper your blocks can and do get all misshapen and wonky. Interfacing is another solution if someone doesn't want to rip off the paper.

Great use of scraps. I just finished a top that is very similar and added some black sashing. Trying to decide on a border and quilting. They are so much fun to put together!
