Wonderful! I have seen Dunster's scrappy log cabin in person, and it also has inspired me to make one - and I never make scrappy quilts! Have been saving up scraps, and have an Accuquilt Go 1 1/2" die to cut the strips. Think it will be my winter project this year

I was asked what the pattern was from.....It is in Judy Martin's book "Log Cabin Quilt Book" page 48 lower left corner of her pages of settings. I cut all the 1 1/2 logs using June Taylor's 'Shape Cut Plus' big plastic template. If I had just cut the logs with a ruler....they NEVER would have all been the same size. This plastic wonder cuts strips in half inch increments. I found if I press down on the plastic on the left side of the slot as I cut, I get a perfect cut and can do all the cutting in no time flat.
As I say, I saw this as a scrappy quilt that dunster made back in August 2009 and had bookmarked it. I fell in love with it all over again.
dunster has lots of great advise on that site about the project and has helped me this past week on the setting! Thanks again dunster!
