Very nice. I really like the block but Just how big is the block? It would take me a very very very long time to use up my scraps on this one. Without a size reference it looks like a small block and there is a huge amount of time piecing it for a very little reward. I would pass on it if the reference is to use up scraps, IMHO.

I would enjoy making this pattern, it is wonderful and would not even consider that it would use up any of my scraps.

just remember the objective you stated for the class.

So my question is, How big is the block?
    peace

Wow, 6" is mighty small for so many strips & angles, you did great, love your colors.

Yes, I'll be teaching this. While it may be a small block (6"), it's a good one to learn how to paper piece, IMO. I, unfortunately, am a quilter who saves everything (except for selvages!), so I do have small scraps that work nicely for this type of project. I'm doing these with my Kansas Troubles scraps...I love the fabrics too much to throw anything away, and these were leftover from some large quilts I had done. The beauty of the class is that once students learn how to PP, they can increase the block size (if they wish) or make as many of the 6" blocks as they wish...so, they can use up the scraps if they so desire. Was a way to have a class w/o students needing to necessarily buy specific fabrics to use....use up what they already have if they want.

I think your log cabin block is fabulous First of all, it's very unique, and secondly, I love KT fabrics, too. Good luck with your class. Where exactly is your shop? Will have to stop by sometime.
