Ube you did an amazing job. I wished I was in it this time around so I might have a chance to win this one. I am just too busy right now but hope to join again in the near future. The person who receives this is lucky.

This was actually a happy mistake. I have been wanting to learn this ribbon block after seeing it years ago but could never find any info on it.

I was looking for a border treatment for the spools and was going through my stash of mini block ideas and started playing with some paper piecing blocks I had laying around.

This little border was paper pieced using this simple Twin Star point block from another project.

1.5" sq unit for star points which also made the ribbon border. This can be enlarged to any size.

I just playing with moving and turning them I discovered they made the pretty border. It really was a happy discovery. I love playing with graph paper.

The one thing I discovered was the horizontal and vertical ribbons have to have the neutral and dark pieces reversed. Otherwise the ribbon is not consistent and won't connect properly.

Here is the book where I got the spool pattern.

I really enjoyed making this one.

Sweet quilt and happy "mistake" really frames the design nicely. I just love plaids. So homey.

I'm not crazy about plaids (but do love that teal) and the quilt is adorable. Love it and the ribbon border. Fantastic job.
