I bought minimal cuts of all of my fabrics- 1/8 of a yard whenever possible but definitely no more than a 1/4 of a yard and unfortunately most of them don't have the selvage info on them. The fabric I used for his belly is Drawn - Foliage Stripe Water by Angela Waters. His belly was originally yellow but as soon as I saw this fabric the yellow came off and the teal swirls went on. I thought I was going to be able to use those green leafs as well but they just were not the right shade for what I was going for.

Baby Zoom Submarine by Northcott provided some of the sea creatures (Octopus, shark, turtle and maybe some fish). Actually wanted to incorporate a yellow submarine as a nod to my DH who loves the Beatles but didn't find a good spot for it.

Fantastic quilt! I just love it. Collage is one of my favorite things to do. How do you attach the pieces to the background? Did you glue? Or stitch around each piece?
