Yes. All I did was cut them in half and add 2 1/2 inch strips in between. Easy piecing. Layout was a game to keep any two matches from getting next to each other. I think I had 3 yards of the border fabric to get to the 91 inch width x 102 length.

Is this a pattern from one of the websites that is free? It looks so simple, but so pretty!

What are the measurements of those pretty rectangles?

Layer cakes are 10" square precuts. So by halving them, I had 80 blocks 5"x 10" before any sewing. To offset every other row, I started the odd rows with a half- or 5" square- and ended with a half on the even rows. That gave me the brick laying effect. Inner border was 2.5 inches, outer border was about 11" trimmed down to 9.5" after quilting. Could have had a few more inches in width for a bedspread.

Lovely quilt - I love those colours.

Your quilting is lovely - not over done. Some quilts looked like they are "scribbled" on when finished.

Beautiful quilt and room to put it in. I am sure they will love it for a long time. The quilting is lovely, also.
