Well, not exactly [/i] from my lampshade, but from the leftovers. Last year I re-did my sewing room in blue, brown and white. I love it and had a few scraps left over so made this bag. The paisley polka dot was the lampshade and a pillow, the stripe is my curtains and the big giant polka dots is from my over-the-door ironing board cover and another pillow. Now I wish I had more scraps of it for anotherone, since I'm giving this one away. Oh well, onto more projects. :-)
Oh yeah- when I cut the corners out of the bag to make the bottom, I laid them on my ironing board and noticed later that they made the cutest 4 patch mug mat, so I stitched them together and bound it, bought a mug, copied the "cake-in-a-mug" recipe from this board and it went to a friend who just had her wisdom teeth pulled this week. It was a happy "get well" gift. I love when being frugal turns out so well!

Would you give a brief description of how you did the lampshade? Thanks!

I just measured the height of the shade and the circumference at the bottom and top, wrapped it around and cut it to fit. I used spray adhesive on that part. Then I glued some white bias tape on the top and bottom edge with Elmer's glue. Quick and simple!

That's great fabric and nice projects. I have some lamp shades that could use a makeover like that! Hmmm....

That lamp shade is NEAT!! I would love to do something like that with a 1940s black lamp of my late DH's that he loved. It would go nicely with the feel of that age, with the ceramic dark lady holding up the lamp.

Thanks for the idea, I've been wanting to do something but had absolutely no idea of what would work.

Is this a modern day fabric pattern? Is it still for sale? In LQS or online? I would love one in black and cream.
