A couple of years ago I decided it was time to stop using the dining table and move to the spare non-functional music/bedroom. I am posting the before and after photos.

One reason this transformation took so long was I have had 2 major surgeries during this time. I also lost my dear dad on my birthday in January this year.

There is still work to be done but I can now not only enter the room but sew in it as well. I have begun to take daddy's shirts and start making quilted wall hanging for each of my siblings and for the nieces and nephews that are grown. I will be posting photos of my progress shortly. I will add that DH has commented about what great therapy this had been for me since I now have my own "woman cave".

Good for you! Sorry that you have had all the problems/losses that you have had. My spare bedroom really got out of hand when my mom died and it's been hard for me to part with "stuff", I feel your pain. When I can get through that, I will have a sewing room/cave also. Hopefully a winter project!

My avatar is actually me on certain days! What you don't see on the wall is the instruments that sit on the floor, keyboard, drums etc. MY DD was very upset when the drums moved to her room so I could use the cave.
