I'm sorry but I can't remember how much fabric because I started it last summer, took it apart & didn't get back to it until Jan. 2014. The pattern called for 6" squares & I did 9 1/2" squares. It's free on the internet from QuiltFrog, com & it's called Quick & Easy Carpenter Star or 4 hour Carpenter's Star. All done with HST's and NO "Y" seams. Very easy pattern. Hope this helps.

It all comes down to value -- the cream really made your carpenter's star pop. You did a great job on your quilt. I like the quilting also -- really compliments the quilt. You knew what you wanted in your quilt and made the commitment to make it work.
