That is very pretty. I agree, it needs a border to look complete.

The size of the borders need to balance these large blocks. Anything smaller would look lost. I would do an inner border of the mauve you used, then 5 or 6 inch border of the blue you used, then a final mauve of 3 or let the binding be mauve of 3. Whatever you choose, it will look beautiful! :-D :-D A striped border also would help minimize and tone it down. ;-)

Thanks for all your input. I kept looking at it and wondering what is the best option. So, I decided to come to my friends on the quilt board. You all always have such great input. Thanks for checking it out and weighing in.

Nice choice of colors and pattern in your quilt. Anyone would be happy to own it! What do you think about borders being added. Trust your instincts....lay some fabs around it and go with what appeals to you. Auditioning different styles, widths and colors will tell the story! Have fun with this and please be sure to post pictures so we can see finished top! Very nice!

That is a beautiful quilt. It does seem to call for a border though. Let us know what you decide.

I'd like to see a band of the blue, about the width of the wide end of the blue wedge. If the size is already "just right", it might be too big with more than that. Maybe use one of the red-violets to bind it.
