Opps double post sorry. I have another that I recently finished but I guess I didn't take a picture I really like that one. It's not in a color scheme that I would normally make but I made it as a wedding gift. It's a Civil War colored quilt and the back has a panel. I will try and get a picture but not tonight. I also have another quilt on the frame that is pieced too.

I often make the back of quilts funtion as a 2nd quilt. Material cost is almost the same, but more time is involved. That way the quilt is "reversable" and you have "2 for one" quilt".

I like how you appliqued the names on a coordinating band for several quilts...
I also purchased a 10 yd bolt of 59"/60" wide muslin to use as backing for my next few quilts. I bought it at Joanns for under $30. I may stretch it by using stash as I go....I am working on smaller projects for the holidays at the moment so I have no large quilts going at the moment...

I like your "backsides"  . I don't have a picture of it but when I made the first quilt for my son who had just been commissioned in the Navy...on the back I spelled out his name with pieced semaphore flag blocks. That was 24 years ago and he is still using it even though it's getting a little worn and faded.

These are great. What wonderful ways to stretch your quilting dollars from muslin backs to the pieced backs that reciepiant can't tell which is the front and which is the back.

I think backs should be interesting too
I prefer to angle the strips when possible
