Silk Crazy Quilt is done and on the bed!
I finished this one a couple weeks ago, put it on the bed and tried it out. The wool inside made it nice and toasty. But of course it's now 80 degrees in the afternoon so it will stay for looks only.
I hung it outside so I could photograph it. Even so, it hit the pavement.
I am SO happy to have been able to do this, thanks to fabric samples from where I used to work and to the advice of quilters on the board to tie it and add lace, among other things.
I did not add buttons or beads since I expect it to be used.
It just hangs over the edge on a standard double bed. I had 2 squares left over for a couple small pillows and very little in the way of scraps. I tied it way more than needed and used beige floss with a muslin backer.
I added a 3.5 inch border (that frayed from 4 inches as I tied it) and bound it with the same fabric cut on the bias.
A friend asked me to leave it to her in my will. We both laughed. . .
Thanks for looking at my photos!
