Default Simple motifs for childrens' quilts.

This is my version of an "I Spy" quilt.
I always like to include animals or symbols in the quilting of children's quilts. I use a very easy method I thought I'd pass on. I know some of you use this too.
After copying a "cartoon" from a comic book, or the internet or free hand, I needle punch it into parchment on my machine without thread. I pin this to the quilt where I want it to appear. Stitch with thread right over the dotted line, backtracking where necessary. Carefully tear away the paper. Any residual can be tweezered away or the last bits will come out in the wash.
I placed 40 animals in my Grandniece's quilt so she can play "I Spy" everytime she goes to bed.

What a fabulous idea! It's not everyday that a technique comes up that is so logical and easy to accomplish with tremendously excellent results! In other words: I think I can really do this without complication! Thank you MaryKatherine!!!
