All of this would not have been accomplished without them. It will be difficult to sew with her because I want her to stay just this way  Each day I take a look at her and give her a pat.
    Beautiful

I bought my 301 in the same cabinet as Smokey. I paid $85 for the set up and it came with all kinds of attachments. If it is cherry, maybe, but I really think you can find one at a better price. They are so easy to clean up and lubricate. Mine didn't need any wiring, but I did need to buy a new foot pedal because the original is stuck in the cabinet. It has a knee bar that operates the foot pedal, but to use it in a class, I needed one I could take with me!

Twinkie, my "Ruby Jewel" is a 221 (1946). I also have Libby (1956), a 221 in her original condition. Love my FWs!

Beautiful machine. Sew with it because it can always be wiped off and cleaned again. - Cynthia

Can you tell those of us who know nothing about older Singers, how old it is etc?[/quote]

Smokey was born in 1951 s/n NA130186. The reason for the name "Smokey": She was covered in smoke when I got her. It took days of rubbing Goop with cotton balls on her to get her clean. My mother, who is no longer with us and was my best friend, was a smoker. I thought of her often when I was cleaning the machine. It was almost like she was with me. Hence the name of "Smokey". Yes, it is a very special machine even tho I don't know the person that sewed with it :!:
