To answer some other questions - we arrived around 7:45 to set up, and there were already a lot of people wandering by. We took turns staying by the car, answering questions. By 4:00 the crowd had thinned down considerably, and around 4:30 the streets were reopened for traffic and the volunteers started taking quilts down. We started packing up and drove away around 5:00. It was hot, but not unbearable, and there was a breeze much of the day.
The ladies from Gees Bend were sitting at a table outside the Stitchin' Post (in the shade) directly across the street from us. I only have one picture showing a few of them, and none of their quilts that were hanging in front of Stitchin' Post.

Thanks for your reminder pictures. We've been 4 times & really find it wonderful. However it is over 9 hours for us to drive there....and if you don't know to book at least a year in advance...good luck on getting a hotel room or a camping spot. The last time we went it was 104 * so was glad to find a stream & dip my whole head into it! We decided the last time to take our own cooler & managed to find a spot down a side street to sit in the shade & eat. There's usually more than 10,000 people in that little town of maybe 10 roads...the hwy has logging trucks etc. driving directly through the quilt show...... lots of tolerant neighbours... but guess they're happy for the $$ that are brought in to help with their taxes. It's a fabulous spot to visit.... DH has biked through there..... if you get the chance.... do it....

I think the best way to give you the flavor of this special event is to show the longer range shots, so you can see how the quilts at Sisters are displayed.
I have friends and family at Crooked River Ranch, so there's always a place stay if lodging becomes a problem. I'll have to mark my calendar for next year.
