A friend uses one of those iron off pens and draws a line on the back side and sews her border on, then trims.
I have not tried this yet, I am a bit of a coward and have not done anything with an outside edge of biasis.

You can also draw a line and stay stitch the edges before you cut them.

Gorgeous quilt. I "think" I voted for that layout. Love following along with your project!
