Instead of using tape measure for those snappy purses, one can get those bracelets that wraps around your wrist with a slap. No cutting up the DH good tape measures. Get them out of those dispenser machines usually at the entrance of stores next to gumball machines. I also use them for putting hair up. Glue leather or some material on them and I wrap
hair up in a bun on them. Takes some doing, but it works. Love the parrot purse.

Love the parrot purse and the step stool especially! Beautiful work on all counts!

I, too, made many homemade gifts for Christmas and for birthdays that come near Thanksgiving and Christmas. All were well-received, I am happy to say! I hope that I will be remembered long after I am gone by those hand-made gifts. I still have pot holders and doilies made by my great-aunt and my mother-in-law's mother (whom I never met) and a tablecloth made by my grandmother---all are very special to me, and hopefully will still be appreciated by my offspring one day.

I love your purses and the whole idea of hand made gifts. Most of what I gave as gifts this year came from ideas on this quilt board. Everyone is so creative and willing to share what they have come up with. I have already started looking for ideas for next year since it is never too early to get started.
Let's GO quilters. Put your thinking caps on!
