Sneak Peek, Glacier Star Quilt
#58
Well to answer some of the questions. It is a foundation pieced quilt designed by Judy Nieneyer and I paid , including shipping a little over $60.00. It is pricey, but you get the foundation paper to do the quilt in. I did not take any of the classes that are available through the certified shops. The pattern is only available through her certified shops and it really isn't too hard at all if you do paper piecing and such. It is in 6 techniques and I just started with the first one and did go to the second one until I was ready. Personally I thinnk the hardest part is chosing the colors for thie quilt. I had a lot of that deep red and the rest are fabrics I had found in the Goodwill and places of the sort. There is no way I would be able ot afford Joanns as the price of cotton had gone up. Some of the paper is left on until the quilt top is done and that is so you can identify which piece it is if it is a left piece or a right piece. So here's the site you can see all her patterns on, but you will have to purchase from one of the certified shops. Once you get to the site and see some thing you want, just click on certified shops and there are a number of them listed. They are not available through the site itself. Ok here is the link.... www.quiltworx.com Enjoy, Huggies, Fay...Oh I forgot, the quilt is 60 x60 , a pretty good lap size, but she now has an extended border pattern so you can make it a queen size. I haven't seen it yet as the store I got mine from did not have a picture.
