Last week or the week before I asked on the Main page about the Snippets technique. Our guild has an on-going year long Challenge to produce blocks using a given technique on a theme that each member of the guild has chosen for herself. My theme is Chickens (don't ask!). So here is the picture of my Snippets chicken and my other chickens from the guild challenge......

I ironed strips of Heat and Bond lite to the top part of a narrow strip of fabric. That was the top part of the "feather" adheres but the bottom end is free from the fabric.

I estimate there are about 500 little pieces of fabric - the block measures about 9 in. X 9 in..

My goodness... I just looked at your reversable applique and must say I am totally impressed! I am amazed! I've never even heard of snippets and have to say that I'm sure that took you FOREVER to do, but it definitely was worth it to get a chicken like that. Keep at it and your quilt is going to look awesome!!!

The chicken is soooo cute! I love the fact that they 'feather' at the bottom.

What a cool idea that your guild came up with and you are so creative in tackling each month's assignment. LUV your chickens.

All your blocks are so cute, the first one must have taken a long time to make the snippets as well as placing them. How did you attach them. I love the Mother hen and chick, one, too. These are just great works.

Thanks to you all for the compliments! I have fun doing these blocks even though they are time-consuming. Our challenge for this month is paper piecing. :| I've never done paper piecing so this should be interesting!!
