    Mine, too! And 30's repro fabrics are another favorite. So put the two together & in my opinion, you can't go wrong! This is fabulous. Say... are you sure I'm not your aunt, too? LOL!

    Thanks everyone! The blocks are 6" finished. I wanted them on the small side so the pattern would be apparent. I like the secondary pattern created by the white, it makes little "X's". My aunt made the most delightful thank you note about it, she's 84 and a very classy lady. I didn't think I liked snowballs, but this quilt made me change my mind.

    This is a very old, classic pattern. It's 2.5" squares that are sewn together to make a 6.5" unfinished 9-patch. The "snowballs" are 6.5" squares that have 2.5" white squares laid on each corner and sewn diagonally. You cut off the excess fabric and it makes each square have white corners. You sew the 6.5" snowballs alternately with the 9-patches, and viola! 6" finished blocks, and make as many as you need. This is a lap quilt for a tiny lady, so it's not all that big.

    I have been wanting to make one of these. I have quilted 2 different ones for other people. This pattern is definately on my "to do" list
