    Default Some Bunny Loves Me

I wanted share a pic of the hand embroidery that I just finished. Way back whenever I kitted up this baby quilt, I managed to miscut the green. I was supposed to have 6 large squares to make 12 QST with the white and 12 rectangles to make the flying geese along the border. Somehow I managed to have 5 squares and 14 rectangles. I salvaged one of the QST out of the extra 2 rectangles, but needed to do something for that last square since any extra green I would have had is long gone. I decided to take one of the bunnies in the print, enlarge it, and try my hand at embroidery. Don't look too closely, but I think it worked out very well. I'm going to embroider another block in hopes that it will be a little better second time around, but my practice block looks pretty good. I'm going to call this quilt "Some Bunny Loves Me" in honor of the focus fabric and embroidered square. It will have a darker purple border border (about 3") around it once I finish piecing the top.

No one will ever know that this isn't what you'd planned all along. I love the name you've given it too.

Thanks everyone. I always say that there are no mistakes in quilting - just design enhancements :-D. I'm looking forward to getting this one finished. It's for a mom at my church. She really appreciates quilts. The family joined our church right about the time she was due with a little one and I gave her a quilt for the baby - she used it all winter long over the car seat :-). Made me happy every time I saw her. I also gave her a quilt that she now proudly hangs in the living room. That little one was diagnosed with a birth defect on an ultrasound. Usually the baby is miscarried or still born, but this little blessing lived for 3 days. The momma was able to use the quilt at the hospital and display it at the funeral. I'm so happy that they're having another little blessing this fall :-). LOL, I need to get busy and make the big sis and bro a quilt too - they were just little tikes when the family joined our church so I missed getting them each one.

You have done a great job on this quilt. Hop to it and get the big sis and brother quilts. They are probably feeling left out because of all the attention that the baby received and now with the new one coming. We sometimes forget the way that children react or are affected by things that happen in their lives.
God bless you for all you are doing for this family.

There are no such things as mistakes. Just additional opportunities for creativity. And I think this additional opportunity given to you came out wonderful. That individual bunny square makes this quilt! I love the colors and I absolutely adore that single bunny square. Thanks for sharing.

Instead of just a pretty quilt, you have made this into an individual work of art! It is adorable.
