I have been writing about quick and scrappy quilts, so I decided it was time to share some of my other work.

Thank you. Since I can't draw worth beans, I took a photo of an eagle, blue it up to the size I wanted (which made a fuzzy mess) then cut it up for my pattern. I've used this technique on several other things as well.

WOW! what a body of work you have. Do you do some of the designing yourself? I did make JEWEL BOX in white, yellow and blue for my daughter. I love the colors you choose. I especially like K's Star. Beautiful.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Jewel box is a traditional pattern, the 3D bow tie is someone else's, the rest are my own designs. I decide to make the wedding ring pattern as a raw edge, fringed machine applique. The sewing was very fast. The fringing was not.

When a group of my friends were making Hawaiian style quilts, keeping in mind that the tradition was to use one's own family experiences and symbols, I included our 2 parrots as shapes for mine.

I do some traditional patterns, but most often I tweak them somewhat.

I made a scrappy quilt, centered around theme units and called it log shanty, because it was WAY to irregular to be a log cabin. When I found these wonderful batiks, I repeated my pattern, calling it Sea Shanty (which refers to a traditional seaman's song).
