The blocks that are not sewn together in the pictures are actually sewn together now. I just took pictures of the before totally done process. Whoops! I get overly excited and start snapping pictures. :-) I hope no one minds me posting these. I also want to add a picture probably in another post of my Turning 20 (but turned into a Turning 13 - LOL) for my lil girl that was only 2. ;-)

Thanks, Just starting out they are far from perfect but I'm working on it. Still need to post my Rail Fence quilt that is getting closer to being completed. I really like it!

Love your blocks. Are you going to put them together in a quilt? Love to see it when you are finished.

I have the blue /green fabric you chose for your Irish chain. I think I used it in pillowcases.

    These are great!

Can someone explain the 'block of the month' process for me, a new quilter? Is it something that is part of this forum?
    Thanks,
    GrandPa

I would love to explain. It is where you do one block a month. I was doing them with our local quilt shop. It is such a great way to start learning. I loved it because each month when you meet you show your completed block. You get it done because of the motivation of getting your new block and moving on. :-)

Oh well that's neat! I think I had gotten it as a fat quarter pack. I made some throw pillows out of some of the fat quarters. Just 2 different fabrics, one on each side. Was perfect. :-)

JoAnn's has a block of the month section. You get the pattern and they have the coordination fabric to make it or most of the fabric stores on line have a BOM. They mail them to you every month and you are charged automatically, so you have to be aware when you decide to join.

What do you call the Jan bom pattern? Can you give us the measurement of that one? Would love to try that Jan bom :-)

Well, I just see it as though I would think that if I ask for a pattern or something someone would help me. :-)

Oh, and I do have to run home during lunch anyway, my cell phone charger is there and that is the phone the school uses to call me about my kids. (talked to one of their teachers today for over 30 minutes......phone is chirping dead!) :-) I'll try to pick up my sheets. If anyone else wants any of the other directions of the BOTM just let me know.
