I know one is an Eight Pointed Star and also called the Ohio Star(3rd) But the first is a combination of the Ohio Star but i don't remember where I got that pattern. Most patterns I use are from Quilterscache.

Yes, that purple one come out so nice for my granddaughter, I loved it and so did she. It's from Quilterscache and it's called "Bird of Paradise".
