Welcome to the Quilting Board!
Those are awesome. GREAT WORK!
You just had to make that gorgeous Venice Rose, didn't you!!
I've just ordered the book and piecing papers as my 10 year old saw it, and has now changed her quilt order from a Mariner's Compass to the Venice Rose.
Thank goodness I hadn't bought the fabric yet.
Beautiful quilts.
I can't wait to see yours. What colors will you be using?Originally Posted by rb.
She had already decided on purple, blue and black for the mariner's compass quilt, and she says she still wants the same colour scheme. I might try to sneak a bit of green in...
gorgeous quilts!! The pug quilt and dog made me smile!!
WOW! Your quilts are magnificent Sally. I really love the last one, just my colors. What pattern is it? Was it hard to make? Cudos to you!!! :D :D :D :D
I see you already posted the name of the quilt. One question thought? Is it paper pieced? ( the Bella Bella )
Yes, it is paper pieced.Originally Posted by sewhappy

My Heavens!!!! Where have you been hiding!!!!!! Beautiful work!!
I've been quilting a little over two years. My sister has been quilting for a very long time and she helps me a lot. In fact, we sew together once a week.Originally Posted by beachlady
If you mean the quilt in the last photo, it was a little difficult. Especially since the instructions were wrong. That's another story.Originally Posted by isewman
Those are just stunning! I especially like the Venice Rose...style and colors. Purple is my #1 favorite color! Your dog is adorable, too. My favorite breed after boxers. That's what I have.
OOOOOHHHHHHH AAAAAAHHHHHHH all I can say.....breathe....breathe
The circular design is the most breathtaking!!! How long did this take? Some day I will get there, I do pray.

Aha! A pug-luver! I love the pug quilt!
I'm ordering the book for the Bella Bella Italian Mosaics for that last one you did. I wanted to do that one too. I ordered it about a week ago.
It's in my library, but you can't tear out the patterns. And in some of the books, the patterns are already torn out. Sometimes you have to just buy 'em.
So, I planned to make that Bella Bella Rose in pink and browns (batiks.) But, I wanted it for a wall hanging. I didn't want it so large. Can you tell me how much material it required?
I'm glad to see someone made it. It's a beautiful design and you've used gorgeous colors. Very nice work, espeically the pugs!
When I popped into the website to order the book and pattern, there was a link for a PDF file for corrections to the first edition. Did you already have this? Here's the correction.Originally Posted by sallyandtilly

Unfortunately, we didn't know about the wrong directions until we were into it. We used common sense and it got together in the end. When I say "we" I mean our sewing group. A few of us did the Venice Rose. When we notified them that the directions were wrong, they said all those books should have been pulled off the shelves. They then sent us an updated correct book, but too late.Originally Posted by rb.
I honestly don't remember how much fabric it took.Originally Posted by Cordelia

Great job. Love the dogs and the little one too.
I love the circles. I have the new circle cutter and want to use it. Is there a pattern or did you make this one yourself. Is the third one paper pieced. It is so lovely I could not tell. Thanks. The dog of course is adorable but then you new that .
