Wink Something new and something old

This time it’ll be a pouch going into the Christmas bag (surprise gift for my church ladies), no giving it away beforehand this time 😉😉😉 It’s made out of a piece of curtain remnant and the Nicki velour border has a little story to it 😁
The piece of fabric I had left was long and not wide enough for my liking so searched in my “stuff” for something to add on. Found this ribbon and would you believe it, it’s over 50 years old 😳😳😳 My grandmother lived in Germany in a town with a blanket factory, they make beautiful Lama wool blankets and bordered them with that ribbon. Grandma got some remnants given to her which she passed on to me. We lived in Switzerland then 🤓 At the time I asked her what I should do with it to which she replied that maybe one day it’ll come in handy. 😁 Well little did she know that one day it’ll end up in Australia on a handmade pouch !!!
Looks like these ribbons traveled the world 😄😄😄
Thanks fir looking and you all have a blessed Sunday ❤️❤️❤️

That ribbon has traveled to more places than some people! Great job on the purse!

Cute pouch. Maybe tuck a note in it about the ribbon. It would be fun to know.

What a beautiful gift! I'm glad you finally found a use for something you saved for so long. If I "toss" something thinking I won't ever use it, I usually find myself wishing I had it back.

The ribbon is perfect for this bag! It was not only perfectly made but the perfect piece to match you other fabric. Job well done. Thanks for sharing.
