Default Spins & Dots: Queen Pinwheel quilt for 13 year old granddaughter

My granddaughter has always been an artistic, adventurous child. I hope she likes the mix of fabrics in my version (I'm not sure about one of them myself). I do know that she likes purple.

I really like both of the quilts. Your colors are some of my faves. From what I see, that was a lot of partial seams. I prefer those to Y seams any day. I know your granddaughter will love it.

You did a great job. The purple fabrics are pretty! I'm sure she will love it.
I made that pattern about 7 years ago with geometric and plaid fabrics.

I like both of them - I am fond of purple with almost any color!

It can be done with no partial seams - but a design wall would be absolutely essential.

I printed out the pic of the first quilt and played with it a bit. I came up with the same construction as bear. And the conclusion that it would take a lot of planning to get it right

Maybe this drawing might be a little bit more helpful.

Or one can set them crosswise. Same set-up.
