Thanks everyone for your nice comments! It's nice to be able to show my projects off here for people who understand what they are and what goes into them.
My husband just doesn't get it. When I was piecing the top, I showed it to him and told him it was going to be a Christmas Tree Skirt. Either he wasn't paying attention (probably) or he didn't hear the word "tree" (maybe) or both (likely). The first words out of his mouth were... "Oh... who is going to wear that?" :roll:
Needless to say - I don't look to him for positive feedback about my projects! :wink: I think maybe he'll get it when he sees the skirt on the tree.

I made one just after Christmas last year. Same here, didn't want the ruffle, but did add a wide border so it would be larger. I had some scraps left that I made matching stockings with. This is mine: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-34486-1.htm

I have variations of dark to light, then I have one with light in the middle on this site. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-78496-1.htm
