Default Spiral Christmas Tree Skirts

I found this pattern by Cheryl Phillips on the internet. I realized if I cut the wedges carefully, I could get two skirts out of the same amount of fabric (except for the ruffle and backing, of course). So here they are. I learned the trick of gathering a ruffle by using a zigzag stitch over crochet yarn - very handy when you have 320" of fabric to gather. I reduced the amount used to 240" for the second skirt, and I liked that better. The skirts are reversible (the ruffle fabric is the backing). I quilted them to accentuate the spiral with gold metallic thread. Thanks for looking.

Ooh, I like this! I'm definitely checking out this pattern - I think the ruffles make it perfect!

Wow - very pretty! Did it sew up quickly? I agree with you, I prefer the second one as well - the spiral is more pronounced. That was a great modification, and how clever of you to cut your fabric so you got 2 skirts! Now you can send one to me - haha.

Love these. I've been thinking about making one. I have the ruler and the pattern.

Oh how pretty! Someone is going to get a beautiful gift this year! I want to make a new tree skirt this year too. I have been looking around to see what is out there. This just might be the ticket. Thanks for sharing.
