Katrine... these are just beautiful... i LOVE that fabric and both quilts, but most of all i LOVE seeing you wonderful quilting!!!... I wish i could watch you move while doing this... i have the janome 1600p on a grace frame.. and can do "loop de loops" quite proficiently, and enjoy it!!!,, but i have to get brave and give this "structured" style a try... i can see a lot about how it's done within the block, but am wondering about the borders, do you have to re-pin or turn the quilt?..being limited to the 10" is an issue for me... really thinking of going to the larger machines, but don't think it's justified for only my home quilting... Thank you for posting these,,, they are a feat for the eyes... beautiful work... !!

I have done a king size with fairly close quilting on - but cannot see myself making many that size. It's here, and if you look at p.12 of this topic there are pics of the quilt under the machine.

thank you Katrine... i thought maybe you were on a table, and really one of the most talented i've seen working that way... i'm going to get brave the next quilt i make with spaces to work in... thank to you....perhaps i'll be able to post something with a caption of "what do you think Katrine".... have a great day, and thanks again.. barbara
Well the 6600 is a 9" harp and this size handles easily on it. What has made a big difference to me is using a Sewslip mat, because it all moves so much better. If you look at the back of this one you can see I worked each block individually (they are 16in), by just following the strips round the square. I work from the middle out on one quarter of it - then turn and come out to next corner from the middle. (The machine is not on a frame BTW!) I have a big table in front of the machine table, and one to the left, which support the weight. I just work the borders from top to bottom on each round.
I have done a king size with fairly close quilting on - but cannot see myself making many that size. It's here, and if you look at p.12 of this topic there are pics of the quilt under the machine.
