What a gorgeous quilt! I think I'd make it a tad longer, in order to cover the foot of the bed. Just can't get over how elegant that pattern looks, in those colors! Wow!

If you want it longer rather than square, make your top and bottom borders wider. Or add another row of your "rail" blocks.

I like the white on black print, I'd make the first border from that, and then add a black, and end at the edge with a 3rd, in one of your reds.
