Thank you everyone. When I posted the picture I thought how real he looked too. I made him with beads. He was supposed to be kind of long but I couldn't get the beading to look right so I undid it. I started at the bottom part, made a circle with a chalk pen, put one bead in the center and then started circling beads around it until I got the size I wanted. For the front or chest part is three rows of three beads. The rest is black floss. This was so fun to make. I got the design out of Carole Samples book: "Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stitches.

Hi PaperPrincess, I live in Howell west of Brighton. I live a ways from the thumb probably between 1-2 hours depending on where you live. I would love to meet up with you sometime though--perhaps when it gets warmer.

Hi scrappycats, This is my first RR and it is being so much fun. I think you would enjoy it. Do you have ladies near you that you can meet and sew with? One book that I treasure for ideas is where I got this particular design from: Treasury of Crazy Quilt Stitches by Carole Samples. She is very knowledgeable and inspiring. You might be able to find a used one but new it is about $27 but very worth it.
