Wow. I've never made a stack and whack. This one is so pretty and the colors that were "whacked" look so nice all cut up. Good job, and congrats to the newly (?) marriec couple.

Stunning! Love the fabric, the red setting triangles really bring it together.

That is a very beautiful S 'n' W quilt - the feature fabric caught my eye because I used the exact same fabric in my first S 'n' W several years ago - photo attached. I have since made a S 'n' W in the Ribbon Weave pattern (photo attached) and have just bought fabric to make the Fan design - can't wait to start on it! I am sure your son is thrilled to have a quilt made by both his mother and grandmother!

Beautiful! I am getting ready to make a "Stack and Whack." Several projects need to be done first, tho.

Oh these are beautiful too. I never would have realized it was the same focus fabric, it looks so different with the blue. I have never seen the Ribbon Weave pattern, very cool!

For those of you who wonder about the Ribbon Weave design, it really is a Stack 'n' Whack and I found the directions in Stack 'n' Whackipedia, also by Bethany Reynolds who wrote the original S 'n' W book. It probably is the simplest one to make and it only requires four repeats of the fabric design.

It is so much fun to see what kaleidoscope design will be made with the Stack 'n whack method. Guys especially love them. I made one for my grandson of tropical fish fabric with blues/orange/turquoise. He loves it. Your mom's is just beautiful and provides so many meaninful memories for your family as you continued its journey. What warm feelings for all of you.
