Default Star and Pinwheel quilt for a friend

My dear friend, Mary, whom I have known for 65 yrs. lost her husband of 37 yrs. last month. We only get to see each other, at the most, once a year as we live in different states, so I sent her a quilt hug.

Pattern is from MSQC, fabric is Kansas Troubles, batting is 80/20, and backing is Minky.
Quilting is free hand on my Tiara II.

That is lovely -- the quilt and the thought.

Beautiful and soothing colours. She will feel your hug wrapped in this.

I love everything about this quilt. The fabrics are colors I like, the quilt pattern can’t be beat with stars AND pinwheels but to top it off is the gorgeous quilting. It’s hard for me to comprehend it’s free hand quilting. My you are good!

There are times when a "hug" such as this is all we need.

A wonderful, touching gift of love. I'm sure she appreciates it.

Your quilt is gorgeous. Great choices of colors and fabrics. And the quilting is wonderful. I owned a Tiara for years. How did you ever quilt that large a quilt, with Minky backing yet, on a Tiara? You must have arm and shoulder muscles like a weight lifter. And that pattern! Did you mark it first? Do you have a stitch regulator?

Absolutely lovely work all around.
