I have one like that also that my grandmother made many many many years ago.. the stars are a violet color and the borders around the "string" blocks (that's what she called them).. are gold.. it was a popular color combo back then.

no it is not hard it is mostly strip piecing. After you cut your squares into 4 triangles you mark your sewing line and then sew 1st piece and then turn it over and strip piece till you get to the end and then after you have done both sides then you trim off the excess. you can also paper piece it.

I don't remember the name of the book by the ladie that made the quilt in the book was Carolyn Forster,UK. It was a quilt book that had lots of quilts and patterns for the quilts, When I go back to the library I will look it up for you.

That is a beautiful quilt It is not hard to make more string piecing. The link the lady gave to do it is almost the same she done hers a little different than the one in the book. But the outcome is the same and I think my blocks are bigger , they came out little over 15".

That is really cute. You did a great job on it. I don't know how big to make the border but a scrappy one for sure. Maybe you can make 4 smaller blocks of the web for the corners.
It is truly beautifal. Good luck
