    Default Stars and Stripes

This is going to the quilter next week. I made this for a Vietnam Vet reunion to be raffled. I make one every year for them and usually attend the reunion since it is my best friends Air Cav unit but a I cannot go this year. This has appliquéd stars, which are turned under and machine appliquéd. I did not have the pattern for this quilt...just followed picture, but, obviously, it's pretty easy pattern to recreate. I didn't have solid blue for outside border but I think it looks cool with star border. I used about 2/3 of a jelly roll for rail fence. Quilt size finished: 53x 77.

you did a great job. it's beautiful. and i like the star border, it seems to let the dark blue appliqued start 'shine' [pun intended]
