Well here is the start of something wonderful. I love to do handwork in the evening while we sit and wath tv...that way i can spend time with the family and still be productive....i am planning on this a being a long term project and will work on it to help pass the time while my husband is deployed...the hexs are all a inch and a 1/8th and i am using all Amy Buttler, M. Miller, and Kaffe prints....ohhhh i just love all these prints and its kinda like old meets new...i attached these 2 flowers together just because i wanted to see the diamonds hehe...but i wont put anymore togther till i get a few more flowers done...i do have 3 more complete that are not pictured.

Wow, those Kaffe & Co. prints really work in a GFG on such a small scale - who'da thunk it!? You get such a variety of colors and shapes when chopping up those humongous prints.

Your flowers are gorgeous! I love the green "grass" connecting them. It's going to be a beautiful quilt.

Are you cutting and sewing each hexagon by hand, or cutting by hand and then machine sewing the hexagons together? As you can tell, the term "handwork" is somewhat unfamiliar to me.

Lovely! You have a great start. Boy, those diamonds are sure small aren't they. I was going to put my last one together with the diamonds, but didn't think I could stand working with such small pieces. The 1 inch hexies was bad enough, but I sure like the looks of the diamond setting!

Wishing the very best for you and your hubby while he is deployed.
