Default starting a Dresden plate

I will hand piece and hand quilt this Dresden in order to frame it as a single block.
Wish me luck please.
This will be my first completely handmade project, which will mean I will have to learn how to appliqué also!!!!!

Good luck to you.
I made three dresden plate quilts in 2013. All sewed and quilted by machine, lots of time spent.
You are braver than I am. No way would I do anything by hand.

Hi Jingle, it is a single block so I figure I could ''pamper it''.

Good luck. I have pieces cut out but not put together yet. Not sure what I am waiting for. Look forward to seeing your finished block. BrendaK

Good luck with that. I have done many Dresdens and always PP them. FYI, I got a bunch of blades and unfinished blocks at a yard sale from a very experienced quilter who measured carefully and pieced, but got each blade slightly off, with predictable consequences. I ram rodded a Dresden opportunity quilt. All the more experienced quilters said it would be too difficult, but found it easy with PPing.
I wish you wonderful results.

You have some pretty fabrics there. Enjoy making your block and do not forget to show us when completed.

Love the colors! Will you be doing the method with the pointy ends? If so, it won't be hard to appliqué since the only raw edge up would have to deal with is the center circle.

Good Luck. The only prominent quilter that I know of who still does hand piecing is Jinny Beyer. You might want to look at any of her videos to make sure you know all the tricks to make the block perfect.
