Thata exactly how I'm sewing my scraps. Mommaw called it string quilt. I have made several . Slashed in bright colors . Wish I knew how to post pictures here. I would like to show my tops.

I think your quilt is terrific. I love strip quilts. You aren't afraid to use them and they look great plus you get to get rid of some of those small pieces of fabric we are hanging onto. You are going to be his favorite.

Yours looks really nice. I am hoping to start one too. I am not sure if I followed the light/dark rule; but I do remember not to use the same strip twice in a block. Mine is not going to be the same pattern, or may be if I wait long enough I might. Right now I have got some done with strips, some with 4 patch, some solid. Once in a while I take them all out & spread them out to see if I have a pattern. At 40 squares, I think I'll have to wait a little (or a lot) while longer to have enough for anything???

I made one like this for a friend and she called me the minute it arrived, she was so happy with it. I think it is pretty too, I am sure whoever you give it to will be happy.
