Stepped on my ironing board and broke it.

I found this idea and thought I would give it a try. I had a wooden T.V. tray in a closet that had never been used. I actually inherited it from my son when he moved back temporarily from the Air Force. My quilt area is upstairs. My ironing board is downstairs. I previously had a small portable ironing board upstairs, until I accidently stepped on it. It cracked in half. I don't think I have to worry about stepping on this one. This will really come in handy when piecing quilts. Can't wait to use it.

that's cute... but how the heck did you step on an ironing board? Are you like really really tall?

It is a very neat idea. I've seen it done before, but yours is much nicer looking.

That's what I did several years ago. I was so tired of having to get up from sewing to go to the ironing board.
I read about this idea somewhere, maybe on this Board. I used pillow ticking as the top; thought it would stand up better than fabric.

This is an awesome idea! The height is perfect for use, ie you don't have to get up to press while sitting at the sewing table, and much easier to store than an ironing board, plus the added surface width! Thanks for sharing.
