Your quilt is beautiful, love the batiks.
Also love looking at your ponies. The little ones jumping around and plays.

I actually had the quilt pattern and some of the fabric ideas selected before I knew it'd be for Aaron. But, I don't want more quilts to sell, and with Christmas coming, and thinking about gifts... I knew it'd be a perfect gift for this young man. I assured Rachel the pattern I had in mind wasn't a complicated one at all--and I wanted to make the quilt anyway... I just needed to know who to give it to. When she told me he liked blues, I added more batiks in deep blue colors. He was even here one day when we were choosing which batiks fit together well. lol

When my son was dating his now wife of one year, I made her a small wall hanging with cats and dogs, then the next year I made her Cats Stairway to Heaven, then I told her if they were still together I'd make her a ragged flannel the next year. With a twinkle in her eye, she said "Justin, you'd better not break up with me!" He didn't. She got another quilt at her bridal shower...but none of the quilts they have completely fit the bed. So... she was looking through patterns and I suddenly remembered I had a Back to Nature pattern and some Modas already selected for it. I showed them to her and she loved them! That project is ready to make, but I had a craft show and other projects ahead of it.

I think the Love Languages idea makes so much sense. I talked to my kids about it when they were younger so they'd have an idea about it once they grew and could apply the ideas. I wrote a summary of each and send it to the parents of my students every year.
