I don't think this quilt is as bright as some I've seen posted on here, but I really like it. I like the pattern, colors, fabrics and want to copy it!

Not my colors either but I always admire quilts made with the brighter colors. Great piecing- your husband scores big.

It made me think of the current weather - blazing hot. No doubt he loves it, it's a beauty.

Please, Please, Please post the photos of completed quilt. It is stunning and such happy colors. I agree, if your children see this, you may have to start hubby another quilt.

Really like this design. What is the pattern?

Thank you all so much for your comments and encouragement! I will post more photos as it progresses and some of the details of the pattern. It is one that our teacher (Sharon Galna of Ultimate Sewing Centre, Oshawa) compiled from a couple of different patterns. She is amazing and this is the third Mystery Quilt I have done with her. She gives us details of the 'values' we should be looking for in our fabric choices before the classes and also just lets us know if two fabrics will be side by side and maybe do not have enough/too much contrast so we can decide if we are going to be happy with the final outcome. She also always challenges us and encourages the class to go out of the 'box' or individual comfort levels.
