Sunbonnet Sue Wall Hanging

Been trying to learn applique, this is from a book called Sunbonnet Sue Set by Marian Shenk. I kind of done my own thing with the quilting and the flowers.

Normally not a big fan of SSB but yours is quite cute and different then most. I love all your embellishments, especially the braids peeking out from under her bonnet. The circle quilting in the background is great. The floral border really makes it special.

What kind of applique are you teaching yourself? Is this needle turn?
