It looks like near-like fabric sewn together like in a crazy quilt - and then the petals cut out from that - am I right? It sure is pretty - love it...
I posted this as my thought how it was done - so beautiful! JoOriginally Posted by sewwjudy

I LOVE LOVE it in fact I went and ordered the book -- maybe you should get some reward for helping their sales
Don't I wish. Funny thing is, I didn't even know there was a book for this.
Love it!
I just love it!
Beautifully done!
I found this link on the applique. This woman took a class with her.

You did such a great job. I love to see original
quilts/patterns. Isn't it so satisfying when you
see the end result of something you put your personal creativity, heart and soul in ? ! !
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing the link to the book.
That is really pretty and what a great idea. It's like doing patchwork (like crazy quilt pieces) and then using the patch for an applique piece. I like it!!
This is a neat sunflower. I want to do something with sunflower theme for our challenge quilt at guild. We are celebrating 150 years for Kansas statehood this year so they decided to do our challenge around Kansas. I think "sunflowers" when I think of Kansas.
Ohh, I love this! Sunflowers are my favorite! Good job!

good work.
I've said it before......I love sunflowers! and this one is no exception! Beautiful!
