Default Sunflower Wallhanging Finished!

I posted this work in progress a couple days ago and stated that it felt unfinished. Since this was my own design, I chose motifs I liked or wanted to try and had no guide other than my imagination to help me. The sunflowers were particularly new for me; I have never attempted 3D applique before. I asked for input in helping me solve the problem of "finishing" the quilt. You were a tremendous help! Together with your ideas and sleeping on it, I knew what I wanted to do. I framed it in black (your idea), added corded leaves (my idea), and included my word in stitching on the border (your idea). Now it feels finished, I Love the look of it, and I hope my friend likes it too. It's a housewarming gift for her. Thank you for your help!

The black frame on your beautiful wall hanging make it just perfect. Your friend will be so happy to receive.

Love your wallhanging, especially the 3D effect...great quilting too. The only thing that would bug me is the dowel that shows. If you cant find a natural branch, maybe wrap with some fabric strips?

It's beautiful! The border really sets it off ... and those sunflowers are awesome along with the leaves and the quilting. I like your creative touches.
