Default Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

I pieced this quilt at the last quilt retreat that I was on. I had seen a photo of a similar one and was struck by it’s simplicity and striking colors surrounded by neutrals. I decided to make this one because I had the colorful strips left over from the last quilt I made, called ‘Chasing Rainbows’ (posted earlier this month). When I decided to do Turkey Feathers in the blocks, I was totally unaware that the feathers were going to create flowers! I’ve only ever used them on triangle borders so I’d never had them lined up on top of each other before. All in all, I’m happy with the way it turned out.

very pretty and great choice of colors. I love to hear your surprise when you got the flower design in your quilting. Nice, very nice job.

What a pretty quilt. I like your "turkey feather" quilting & love that border fabric. Thanks for sharing it with us.
