I found my notes: It is a 10 inch block sewn. So I trimmed each block to 10.5 inches before assembly. I started with 3.75 inch square and sewed a 1.25 black strip on 2 sides--making the central block 4.5" and then added 2.5 strips until it was close to 10.5 inches. It was not precise sewing--so I did trim each and every block. I named the quilt SW Housetops since I found that Housetops is one of the names of this block. There are other names that escape me--Half Log Cabin?
