    Default Tumbler blocks

The first template I bought when I started to quilt about 9 years ago was the classic tumbler. I made a thanksgiving and a Christmas table runner, and put the template aside until last week.

Looking for something simple to do, (mindless, really, I didn't want to have to think!) I came across the tumbler and this is what I ended up with, a charity quilt that measures 41" x 53". The colors are brighter than the pix shows them to be.

Using stencil plastic, I added an inch to each of two touching sides of the original template to make a medium tumbler, and then added 2" to two touching sides to make a large template. Cut the templates out and traced the shape on a stack of about 4 to 6 pieces of scrap.

I think that I will be doing this one again!

I just made my first tumbler quilt last year and learned how to do it without using or buying a template so glad I did because now I can do it anytime I am inclined to. I really enjoyed it and I like the way you have done it.
