Quote: I just collected them over the last couple of years. His were too wore out to use in anything. I actually made it to put in our camper as we both just retired and are ready to being traveling. His remark, "Oh no! This is to be saved!!!"

Guess I'll find another to be used in the camper!
Use the quilt! It'll be fine in the camper. I made a t-shirt quilt with my school shirts when I retired from teaching (and you know how primary teachers wear lots of "cutesy tees  ). That was in '98. We use it everyday in our "game" room on the daybed. It's washed and dried and put back on the bed. Looks good as new.

I have a question --did you use the iron-on interfacing behind the tees? And how did you quilt it? By the way, this quilt puts mine to shame.

I've been away from this site for a few weeks. No, I did not do the quilting, a friend of mine here did it. It's just a large stipple. I'm beginning the other two and will post pictures when they are done. It is too hot here in Iowa to do anything outside!!

Oh wow! I have someone in my family who is a RABID cornhusker fan! In fact, when he got married, he planned the wedding so it wouldn't interfere with Nebraska's games. BUT, one game was rescheduled to, you guessed it, the day of the wedding. So, at the reception, all the guys were in one room watching the game, while the bride and other women danced with each other in the ballroom! LOL

The quilt is beautiful. but I don't think I'm going to show it to my relative.
'Cause I'll have to make him one too!!!

I used the tricot iron on stabilizer. Just make sure that the "stretch" on the tricot goes the opposite way of the stretchiest direction of the t shirt block.

Have fun. I'm starting t shirt quilts for my two 20 somethings with their high school t shirts for Christmas. Than on to some "normal" quilts! In between camping trips. Good thing I didn't do a garden this year.

Great t-shirt quilt! I agree with the others that it's the best job I've seen. I have a large stack of my DH's t-shirts ready to be cut into squares. He's getting four quilts:

Oregon Ducks bowl games
Hard Rock Cafe collection
Pacific Lutheran Univ. rowing team (this will take 2 quilts as he has 30 of these - yikes!)

Thanks for the great inspiration!
