I am making this table runner for a friend, and wondered if there are guidelines for the size in relation to the size of the table. The table is oval, 75" x 48". The table runner with one 2" border is 52" x 22". That will leave exposed about 12" of table on each side. Does that seem properly proportioned?

The top is done, if I don't add any more borders, just needs quilting and binding. My "design wall" is kitty wumpus, not my top!

Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous fabric! Very beautiful and dramatic. The size sounds right to me -- any larger and there'd be almost no table top showing.

Your table runner is beautiful. And the proportions sound like they are right for the size of the table.

Outstanding!!
One question, why call it Red Rooster, when there are gold fish on it?

Your size sounds about right to me. You don't want food dropped on it from dinner dishes, this way the pretty runner will be in the clean part of the table. Hostess can put flowers or serving dishes on it.
